Preparing for a positive caesarean birth.

I've often felt like there's a lot of focus on birth preparation for those aiming to have a vaginal delivery, but not much when it comes to those having a planned caesarean.

But why?

It's as though if you're having a C-section, there's nothing to plan for, you just turn up at hospital, have the op and leave with a baby.

But I don't think that's fair. It's still birth - just a different variety.

I see birth preparation as a lovely way to bond with your baby, and make the mental transition into motherhood; and I don't think that just because you're having a caesarean you should miss out on that!

And there's loads you can do to prepare mentally and practically to make it in to a genuinely positive experience, rather than a scary one.

So I've decided to put together a specific course, just for those people that want to be relaxed and prepared as they approach their pre planned caesarean.

It includes some mindset work, relaxation tools useful in the lead up to and during the op, practical info about what to expect, what your options are, a bit about gentle caesareans, and a few practical tips for looking after yourself after the birth too.
